Ena MacFarlane's
Guernsey gallery
Splendid Guernsey with its rugged, sometimes tempestuous coast inspired the artist. There was evidence too of ancient human occupation, as well as Napoleonic-era towers and the robust German fortifications of WWII. Elsewhere dappled, narrow lanes, bountiful gardens, and secluded beaches beckoned. On dreary winter's days with mists and floating seaspray, a thousand shades of grey emerge in almost zen-like ambiguity. But all is dispelled by the dazzling riches of spring and summer, nature's endless renewal. An artist's wonderland . . .

matyred in ancient Alexandria. Simply inscribed verso by the artist in pencil 'Chapel of St
Appoline Guernsey'. Not mounted or framed, and suitable for immediate shipment.
