Bacchus Marsh Model Aircraft Associatio incfield.jpgclub sign

Our club was first formed in 1977. We called ourselves "Bacchus Marsh Aeromodellers Club" (BMAC) When we became incorporated in 1994 we had to change our name slightly so now we are BMMAA. We cater for all types of models and have some members flying free flight and control line, but most fly radio control. we have a rapidly growing electric following including indoor flying.

Demmoiselle  (PvA)demoiselle.jpgdemoiselle.jpg

I have had a facination with this aeroplane, probably since seeing it on " those magnificent men in their flying machines" when i was a kid. it took me until 2004 to finally build one. Scratch built from a 3view from the internet. gws ips power. Used 200ma 7 cell nmhi before lipo's were affordable, now 700ma 7.4v lipo gives about 40 minutes in the air. 40 inch wingspan  6ounces   whatever in metric!

Tiger MothsDave with his tiger mothtwo tigers

Our club has had quite a few tigers over the years. these two are the green air 90 size. Norm has the green/yellow one and the red/silver belonged to Dave(RIP)  one of our clubs few mid air collisions happened  involving norms and my .30 size tiger. be very wary of flying in formation with two of the same models in different sizes!!! Norms landed with minor damage, and mine is now back in the air .

Norm  super cub and tigernorm again

Norm has been an active member of our club for many years. one of his problems is his growing  "air force"  For many of us, as our skills have developed, our new models are in addition, not replacing old ones, because the old ones are still going. i don't think our wifes understand! here is his lightning, powered by two thundertiger 52 4st, and his super cub, magnum 160 twin

Corby starlets corby big and smallcorby starlets

The Corby Starlet is an australian design homebuilt, usually using VW power. These two models are the sportsman aviation ARFs, about 1/4 scale, both with magnum FS70s.  The blue and white corby has been painted the same as the full size one, this is a father/son duo.its about to be re-engined with a saito 60 twin-------nice.

Fly Babys fly baby on floatsfly babys

We have a couple of fly babys in our club, both balistic kits. The photo is a bit deceptive, but they are the same sise. The closer one has a single cylinder saito four stroke engine, the other (which also has floats) has an old OS Gemini 120 twin. These are absolutely lovely aircraft to fly, beautiful ground manners, and perfect on floats.
How much better can it get?

GeeBee model Z geebee z in flightgeebee z

You love them, or hate them. I love them. this is the GeeBee model Z. The original built in 1930, and 30% faster than the fastest military aircraft at the time. This one is the Kyosho 40 ARF . OS FS60 power looks fantastic in the air, but a bit tricky to land nicely. currently waiting for some minor repairs. Like I said, a bit tricky to land.

Indoor electric rc models 20 inch corby starletgws tiger moth

Here's a couple of indoor electric radio control models. The tiger moth is a GWS ARF. It flys really well and is quick to build. a small geared motor powers it. The corby, (familliar colour scheme) is only 20 inch (500mm) wing span and was built from a 3 view drawing. It has a very small gws geared motor. Both of these models are made from polystyrene foam. The demoiselle above is conventional balsa wood.
